Lady Tara on Tarot
by Lady Tara

I would have to say that dreams play a pretty major role in my spirituality. I think that very often I do tend to dream in Tarot. This makes sense if you believe as Jung says that Tarot cards are keys to the unconcious. Since I’ve been reading for about 15 years, I’ve developed my own “language” with the cards.

How does Tarot work? I couldn’t say exactly, but time and time again, I’m able to pick up on the personal details of various persons most of whom, I’ve never met. I do have my theories, none of which could be proven scientifically. But Tarot isn’t a science, it’s an art. I’ve been told that the subconcious mind picks up everything, every little detail in every moment of every day. Deep in your subconsious mind are a variety of sights and sounds and smells that most of us aren’t paying attention to. I think that Tarot readers are subconsious card counters. Just like there are people who go into a casino and learn to anticipate what cards are coming up so that they know when to place bets so that they win. I hypothesize that as I’m shuffling, I might know on some level where certain cards are in the deck. And as I lay the cards out, I already know what cards will show up in what placement to determine the past, present and future for the individual.

It’s a theory, and it makes more sense to me than just random coincidence. I’ll admit that there are people that I can’t read. This is especially true of people who are not open to the experience. Skeptics have a habit of putting up walls as they attempt to “stump” the reader. This is like having a one-sided conversation. Tarot works best if both parties participate.

I’m hoping to post regularly and I plan to blog about my thoughts on some of the cards. For those interested in Tarot, it could be a fairly educational experience. I realize that I have my own interpretation of the cards and I am not trying to interject my impressions. I just hope to share some of my personal insight.
